Private Body Mapping Lessons and Public Workshops
Location: Volute Service, 95th St. W, Manhattan, NYC

I look forward to my semi-annual Body Mapping workshop in NYC during the week of March 9-14 and to working with the NYC players who are learning to move and play with more ease and according to the anatomical design of the body. There will be an introductory 3-hr. workshop featuring highlights of the What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body Course (details still TBD). In addition to the workshop, I will be offering private lessons as well. Please contact me at jennifer [at] bodymap [dot] org to arrange lessons.


Body Mapping Highlights/Master Classes

I look forward to working with the pre-college students of the Blair Suzuki School and the college students from Vanderbilt’s Music School in Nashville, Tennessee during the second week of March, 2020. Also included will be a wonderful chance to give an introductory talk to the parents in the wonderful Suzuki Program there.

Dr. Judy Palac and I will be co-presenting at ASTA 2020 in Orlando Fl during the first week of March. Our 2-hr. presentation is called “Where Do My Shoulders Belong?”: Preventing Common Injuries in String Players by Mapping Upper Arm Balance” and will explore in great depth the most common mismappings that cause discomfort, injury and limitation in string players. We will help participants to re-map their upper arm structure according to the true design of the body in order to provide more freedom and ease in playing.

I am honoured to be an invited speaker at the Missouri Music Educators Association annual conference just outside of Kansas City, MO. The presentation on Jan. 24 is an introduction to Body Mapping plus a master class. Saturday, Jan. 25′s presentation is called Teaching Body Mapping to Children and will focus on the most common injuries and the red flags to watch out for in order to prevent injury in our students.

What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body 6-hr. Course

As a part of a French-Canadian book tour to promote the publication in french of my second book Teaching Body Mapping to Children, I will be presenting the full Body Mapping Course at the University of Montreal on Sunday, April 5th. (French translation by Claire Stefani, published by L’Editions Vandevelve/Lemoine in Paris).


8-Week Body Mapping Course – Winter 2020

We will be exploring a new topic each week, as well as continually reconnecting with previously covered material. As we are building and reviewing regularly, it is possible to miss a class and still continue learning. I do not recommend registering if you will miss more than two classes.
