Soprano Michelle Kunz owns a successful coaching practice working with teams and leaders who want to increase results while minimizing conflict and stress. She has portrayed many beloved opera heroines to critical acclaim, including Violetta (La Traviata), Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), Mimì ( La Bohème), Blanche de la Force (Dialogues of the Carmelites), Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica) and Jenny Diver (The Threepenny Opera). Having performed in major cities across the U.S. and in Europe, she now happily appears in several productions each year with the Washington National Opera chorus on the stage of the Kennedy Center Opera House, where she is also the children’s chorus master.

Dr. Kunz has served on the voice faculties of the Columbia Institute of Fine Arts, the Levine School of Music, The Flint Hill School, and the Washington National Cathedral and has taught high school chorus at the Washington Waldorf School. She has also conducted and directed numerous community and church choirs and musical theater productions. She is a popular presenter on a variety of topics ranging from Body Mapping to opera history and is in demand as artist-in-residence for a variety of programs. Dr. Kunz is a member of NATS and her students have placed in numerous competitions. She resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and son, who is a cellist.
