Marieke is a crossover vocal artist and voice trainer who loves live performances, ah-ha moments and the intricacies of the mind-body relationship. Through Cantare Voice Studio, her private studio in Eugene, Oregon, she trains singers and speakers. She has performed with Eugene Opera, Willamette Concert Opera, Oregon Bach Festival and Cascadia Concert Opera, as well as in local classical concerts. Her jazz group, Elegant M, plays throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is currently Managing Director for Cascadia Concert Opera, a non-profit arts organization.

Marieke has taught voice at Concordia University in Irvine, Cerritos College in Los Angeles and Lane Community College in Eugene. She has been Chorus Master for Eugene Opera and has conducted childrens’ choirs and church choirs over the years. She started exploring Body Mapping with Barbara Conable in 2002. She now teaches Body Mapping through workshops and in individual sessions. She is continuing her training toward certification in Alexander Technique with Cathy Madden of Seattle, WA. She has been a member of NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing since 1986 and was part of Ms. Ellen Faull’s voice studio in Camas, WA from 2005-2009.
